Clarkson University awarded nearly 800 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees to students from 34 states, 26 countries and 60 New York state counties, this spring. (An additional 275 students received degrees this past winter and summer.)
To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.
Five exceptional first-year students are selected each fall semester to receive a prestigious scholarship from the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation. This exclusive program has been created to recognize students who exemplify leadership, perseverance, scholarship, service and innovation. Elizabethtown College is one of the few elite educational institutions with which Stamps has partnered, joining University of Michigan, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Miami, University of Virginia, California Institute of Technology, UCLA and University of Illinois. Recipients of the Stamp Scholarship receive monetary awards, individual mentors and extra opportunities. Those opportunities can include attending retreats, conventions, banquets, and lectures.
The Empire 8 Conference announced that 11 of Elmira College's varsity teams were awarded E8 All-Academic Team status and 71 student-athletes were named to the President's List in recognition of their outstanding work in the classroom.
Forty eight seniors were recognized for community service efforts during a ceremony at SUNY Oneonta's Alumni Hall Theater last week. The event, which was held May 11, was hosted by the Center for Social Responsibility and Community and was a celebration of seniors who volunteered 350 hours or more during their time at SUNY Oneonta. This year's senior class had 589 seniors who logged 60,517 hours of service in their four years.

Freshman Christian Chapman was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week, the conference announced March 14. Chapman tied for 10th place in the individual standings March 12 and 13 at the USF Invitational after firing a four over par 74-74-76-224 on the par 72, 7,004-yard Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club course. He helped lead the Blue Hens to a seventh-place finish in the team standings. Chapman has appeared in six tournaments for the Blue Hens this season, averaging 75.39 strokes per round. The award is the first weekly conference honor for Chapman.

More than 400 Buffalo State students presented their own research or creative work at the annual Student Research and Creativity Conference held on campus in April 2017. Students from many academic disciplines including art, business, education, science, and technology explained their work using posters or presentations. Students used gallery and performance space to demonstrate work in the performing and visual arts.
